Wearing an ill-fitting bra
I mean, who does that? The purpose of a bra is to make you feel comfortable and at ease. But, what if this instrument of comfort starts to turn into a nemesis and begins to give you the most uncomfortable day imaginable? The reason for this is the fact that you are wearing an ill-fitting women’s bra, and just like ill-fitting clothes hurt your look, an ill-fitting bra hurts your breasts. Not only does it make you fidget all day, trying to adjust comfort levels, but your breasts also become too sore to touch at the end of the day when you take off the bra.
And there’s more damage that an ill-fitting bra can do to you.
Wearing an ill-fitting bra could cause rashes
Another problem that arises with wearing an ill-fitting bra is that you have a greater chance of suffering from rashes. The fabric of the bra is the main reason to be considered, and in most cases the culprit is a tight sports bra. Sometimes these bras leave a redness because of the lack of airflow allowed which in turn leads to sweat collection, skin irritation and rashes. You can opt for a non-wired bra or bras with sweat-absorbent material.
You're holding onto your bra for too long
It's important to understand that a bra that you are very fond of has spent quite a lot of time with you now, and you should let it go. You two need to part ways! A good quality bra ideally can last anywhere between 6-8 months, or even more, if you take great care of it. But more than a year will just make it go out of shape, and loosen the fabric, with pores popping up that could be really itchy or uncomfortable. Also, it's normal to experience redness on your skin if you've worn that bra for too long, without washing. Bra-buffs or experts recommend that replacing bras, with new ones, after six months is the best option!
You're skipping wearing a sports bra for workout sessions
The core idea to wearing a sports bra, during working out, is to give your breasts that additional support required at times when you are running or skipping, to slow down the bust movements. Working out without a sports bra can cause sagging, stretching of breasts tissues, can pull the skin ligament causing saggy breasts, which you definitely don't want. Also, if you get into the habit of working out without a sports bra the chances of you getting stretch marks there, also increases because of sagging. So, make sure to check out good quality sports bras that provides the required support.
You're wearing the same bra with all your outfits
You cannot wear the same type of bras with all your outfits. And if you do, it may only restrict your full potential to look more beautiful and confident in that particular outfit. Not all bras will give you the desired look and comfort so pick your bras as per your most worn outfits. For example, a versatile multi-way bra can be ideal for your low back outfits. And wireless molded bras are great for a long day or a long night of dancing at a sangeet or haldi function. Backless bras are great for an invisible look, while seamless bras are perfect for thin & clingy fabrics over one piece.
You're wearing the same bra for two days in a row
Bras are the closest layer of clothing to your skin, which makes it super important for them to be clean and washed every day. But what we don’t often realize is that they contain elasticity which needs at least a day to breathe and go back to its original shape. Overstraining the fibres may cause your bra to wear out very quickly. Thus, wearing the same one for two consecutive days? Not a good idea.
You're wearing super tight bras
Tight bras are a big no no for breast health. Apart from making you feel highly suffocated, they can also restrict blood circulation and impair the lymph tissues. Since it might not always be feasible to buy a new one right when you require it, here are two easy ways to fix this problem. You can simply use a paperclip that will act as a space in between the tight bra band. Or get hold of a bra extender as it increases the width of the bra making it comfortably loose.
Your bra has badly fitted straps
With all the focus usually on the fit of the bra band, we often ignore the fit of our straps. If they are too tight, they can cause blisters and rashes. And if they're too loose, they can keep falling off or peeping out from your outfit. Worst scenario they are way too tight: you must agree then that the bra is surely not of your size and the straps are ill-fitted. You can either alter your bra straps, most of the above all depend on the band size. If the band is too long then the straps have way more supporting than is required for your breasts.
Your bra band is riding too high or too low
As a rule of thumb, your bra bands should always be parallel to the floor. If you're sporting one that is riding towards your shoulders, or way too low ,it could mean that the bra is ill-fitting and could lead to aches and pains in your neck and shoulder areas.
Reduce the problems you face with your bras by keeping in mind the points discussed above and be iinner-fab each day!
